Today was Memorial Day. I considered not posting anything at all, but I couldn’t let the day pass without mentioning one of many good, kind men who dedicated their lives to protecting the men and women of this country.
His name was John Michael Hayes, and he was a Marine. He didn’t die in combat, but in a car accident. His last act was to swerve so that his side of the vehicle took the impact, sparing his passengers.
He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
